Part 5 · After the written test
Renewal
A license is renewed either on your province's eDLVRS portal or in person at a transport office, with your original license and citizenship. A lost one is replaced rather than renewed, and that starts at the traffic police.
Renewal fees
The renewal fee is the license fee for your class in your province: Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 for A/K and Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 for B. Renewing more than 90 days after expiry adds a fine.
These are the ranges across provinces for classes A/K and B, not a total bill. Health checks, separate exam or retest charges, and late-renewal fines are extra where applicable. Confirm the amount with your office.
Renewing online
- Open your province's eDLVRS portal and choose License renewal.
- Enter your license number, in the new or the old format as your card prints it, and your National ID number.
- Upload a scan of your National ID card or its registration form: an image or a PDF of up to 2 MB.
- Enter your date of birth in AD and your email. A one-time code goes to the mobile number linked to the license, and to the email.
- The renewal then passes the health check and the office's approval, and paying the renewal fee completes it.
